As it has done for decades, Tokyo’s 121 year-old Imperial Hotel will once again be presenting a series of festive Christmas dinners and live concerts for the enjoyment of its guests and the general public this Holiday Season.

On Saturday, December 17th and Friday, December 23rd, the Tokyo FM Boys Choir of young sopranos will present live concerts of Christmas Season music at The Imperial, starting from 1:30 p.m. in the ground floor Lobby of The Imperial Hotel Plaza, followed by another performance from 3:00 p.m.
On Friday, December 23rd, the Tokyo FM Boys Choir appears from 3:00 p.m. in the ground floor Lobby of The Imperial Hotel Plaza, and again from 4:30 p.m. in the Main Lobby of the Main Building.

The performances are free of charge.

Also following a popular Holiday Season tradition, The Imperial is once again cordially inviting its guests, patrons and the general public to attend and take part in its annual Christmas Eve concert of carols and Yuletide classics, the first performance of which starts at 4:00 p.m. next to the Wall of Light in The Imperial’s Main Lobby. A second show starts at 6:00 p.m.

Both performances will feature the spirited sonorous voices of some 80 young men from the Waseda University Glee Club (pictured above) and the Keio University Wagner Society, chorus groups from two leading and rival Tokyo universities.

This year’s performances include many traditional Christmas carol favorites and each lasts some thirty minutes.

In the spirit of the season, Imperial Hotel guests and patrons and the general public are warmly urged to join in and sing along. These concerts are also free of charge.

This year The Imperial’s inviting Les Saisons on the Mezzanine of the Main Building is offering lavish, multi-course Christmas lunches and dinners created by award-winning Chef Thierry Voisin daily from December 17th through 25th, with luncheon service from 11:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. at ¥16,800 per person, and dinner service from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at ¥29,400 per person.

Prior reservations are suggested, at (03) 3539-8087.

The Imperial Viking Sal grand buffet restaurant is also offering elegant and diverse Christmas dinner buffets nightly from December 23rd through 25th, at ¥14,700 per person for adults, and ¥8,925 for children aged 4 to 12.

The buffets include appetizers, soups, salads, cheeses, vegetables, hot and chilled seafood and meat entrees, curries, assorted rolls and breads, fruits and numerous pastries and ice creams, served with coffee or tea.

Service is available from 5:00 p.m. through 9:30 p.m., for periods of two hours per party.

Since it opened in 1890, The Imperial has always recognized the significance of Christmas to its numerous guests from western countries and the resident international community in Tokyo, and as always the public spaces of the hotel are dressed up for the season, with exterior illumination and an elegant Christmas tree on display in the Main Lobby.

The hotel also hosts a series of special Christmas and New Year season accommodation packages.
