I was in Vancouver this week to organize my visa for India. I lived in Vancouver for seven years, and now there is even more infrastructure since the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Staying with friends in their West End penthouse apartment, I breathe in the most spectacular views of English Bay and am reminded of how beautiful this city is.

Being a tourist in my old town, I visited Granville Island, home to local artisans, a public market and eateries; Kitsilano, where I used to live and practice, and Main Street, the epicenter of funky vintage and fashion-forward finds.

I’m taking the ferry back to Victoria today—a beautiful trip that winds through the lush Gulf Islands and never fails to evoke awe in me. As sometimes happens, I saw orca whales on my last crossing!

Om,

Dani
