Asada learn the basics of oil painting from his teacher Toshio Fujinaga while still in high school, and started painting again after meeting Fujinaga again for the first time in 20 years, in 1999. From his student days, Asada made many sketches, and almost no works that were properly finished. In the ten years since he started painting again, however, Asada has produced small oil landscapes as well as large-scale abstract acrylic paintings. On display here are around 15 works focusing on prizewinning paintings that won the Modern Art Exhibition prize this year.
