In Japan, people are fascinated with flowers of each season and attempt to visualize their sensual beauty. In China, on the other hand, they have been employed in arts and crafts since ancient times as an auspicious omens irrespective of seasons. Flowers have not only been depicted as the main theme of artworks but formed backgrounds to stories and poems, while also carrying religious significance.
